Quick setup for every platform.
Install on Mac
Download the .zip, extract, and drag lowercase to Applications. Press F5 to start dictating.
iOS Setup
Install from the App Store. Go to Settings → Keyboards → Add lowercase. Switch keyboards in any app.
Android Setup
Install the APK. Grant overlay permission when prompted. The floating bubble appears on your home screen.
Use in Browser
Open lowercase.click in Chrome, Edge, or any modern browser. Grant microphone access and start dictating.
Common Issues
Microphone not detected
On macOS, check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and ensure lowercase has access. On iOS, go to Settings → lowercase → Microphone. On browser, click the lock icon in the address bar and allow microphone access.
Hotkey not working on macOS
Make sure lowercase is running (check the menu bar icon). If F5 conflicts with another app, you can customize the hotkey in lowercase preferences. Also check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility for lowercase.
Transcription seems slow on first use
The first transcription after launch may take a few seconds while the model loads into the Neural Engine. Subsequent dictations are near-instant.
Custom keyboard not appearing on iOS
Go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard → lowercase. Make sure "Allow Full Access" is enabled for the keyboard to function properly.
